Rev. Charlotte Hendee

Rev. Hendee is a native of Upstate New York. She obtained Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science and worked in the U.S. Senate for several years before answering God's call to enter the ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church. After graduating from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., she served churches in Maryland for 28 years before retiring in 2012. She now lives in Wells, Maine, and is enjoying serving part-time as pastor of East Parish.


Rev. Dr. Mary Jane O'Connor-Ropp

Rev. Dr. Mary Jane O’Connor-Ropp grew up in a small town in New York State, not far from Rev. Charlotte.  She graduated from St. Lawrence University and worked in the computer and electronics industry in the greater Boston area until entering seminary at the age of 38.  She graduated from Andover Newton Theological School in 1986 and was ordained as an Elder in the New England Conference in 1992.  She served churches in Massachusetts for 20 years and also spent four years in an extension ministry in Worcester, MA helping to develop a city-wide program for alcohol  and other drug abuse prevention.  She received her Doctor of Ministry degree in Spirituality from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2000 and completed a training program in spiritual direction in 2015.  She offers spiritual direction as well as retreats and workshops.  Mary Jane lives in Wells, Maine with husband Steve Ropp and a dog and cat.
